Abstract
We present a genome assembly of a specimen of common vervain, (Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Lamiales; Verbenaceae). The genome sequence has a total length of 289.20 megabases. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 7 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial and plastid genome assemblies have lengths of 495.81 kilobases and 153.46 kilobases, respectively. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 25,194 protein-coding genes.
