Abstract
En un esfuerzo por abordar la grave crisis ambiental, exploramos cómo el "deporte extremo" del paramotor puede mejorar y acelerar la exploración científica con un impacto medioambiental mínimo en comparación con los vehículos 4x4 todoterreno. El estudio demuestra el potencial científico del paramotor para acceder a ecosistemas desérticos frágiles e investigar hábitats inaccesibles y especies no registradas. En comparación con el uso de 4x4, el paramotor mostró reducciones significativas en las emisiones de CO eq para expediciones más largas y tiempos de viaje nueve veces más rápidos. A diferencia de los vehículos todoterreno, que pueden causar daños en el área de desierto equivalentes a áreas más grandes que un campo de fútbol por kilómetro lineal recorrido, los paramotores causan daños mínimos La integración de los deportes extremos y la ciencia puede acelerar la recolección de datos y especímenes, y la conservación de hábitats. Esto tiene el potencial de genera nuevos descubrimientos y promover el compromiso de diversas comunidades.
