Abstract
Perezia recurvata (Vahl) Less. subsp.recurvata(Compositae:Mutisieae: Nassuaviinae) is described and illustrated. Comments are pro-vided on its cultivation, propagation and availability, although currentlyonly available from one supplier in the United Kingdom. The problem-atic taxonomy of this genus is discussed. A brief comment is made on thehistory of the type collections of two synonyms ofPerezia recurvata,andofPerdiciumL. within which Vahl originally described the basionym ofPerezia recurvata. The adaptive anatomy of the leaves ofPerezia recurvataare commented on and likened to those found inNassauvia falklandica,and the presence of the unique group of phytochemical compounds, therecurvatianes, is mentioned.
