Abstract
A brief historical account of the genus Condea (Lamiaceae) is followed by a note on a new species from Brazil and a new combination in Condea from Mexico. For C. petrensis, a detail of its discovery in the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, a description, diagnosis and illustration are provided. Its conservation status is Critically Endangered, following the criteria of IUCN. A key to South American species of Condea sect. Condea is presented, with notes on their distribution and taxonomy. © 2019, The Author(s).
