Taxonomic Synopsis of Eriosema (Leguminosae: Papilionoideae, Phaseoleae) in Brazil
Eriosema is a pantropical genus occurring mostly in savanna vegetation and grasslands of tropical environments, with approximately 150 species and two centers of diversity, one in Africa with about 110 species, and the other in the Neotropics with about 40 species. Considering the large number of Eriosema taxa in Brazil,...Cândido, , Elisa ; de Vargas, Wanderleia ; Bezerra, Luísa ; Mansano, Vidal ; Vatanparast, Mohammad …

Taxonomic Synopsis of the genus Chamaecrista (Leguminosae, Caesalpinioideae) in the Chapada dos Veadeiros region, Goiás, Brazil
Chamaecrista is one of the largest genera of Leguminosae subfamily Caesalpinioideae and comprises 330 species, of these, 222 species are present in the Phytogeographic Cerrado Domain in Brazil. The taxonomy of the genus in Brazil continues to need study. Here we present a taxonomic synopsis of Chamaecrista for the Chapada...de Souza, Alessandro Oliveira ; Lewis, Gwilym P. ; da Silva, Marcos José

Ninety-three new combinations in Euploca for species of Heliotropium section Orthostachys (Boraginaceae sensu APG)
Many new combinations are needed in Euploca, previously regarded as Heliotropium section Orthostachys, to correspond with results of our forthcoming, world-wide, molecular phylogenetic analysis. We also need these names for our many δ13C determinations that identify many Euploca species exhibiting C4 photosynthesis and show that other Euploca species are not...Frohlich, Michael W. ; Thulin, Mats ; Chase, Mark W.

From the frying pan: an unusual dwarf shrub from Namibia turns out to be a new brassicalean family
Tiganophyton karasense, an evergreen dwarf shrub, is described as a new species. A new genus and family are also proposed for it in the order Brassicales. Phylogenetic analysis of DNA sequence data indicate that Tiganophyton is sister to Bataceae/Salvadoraceae, and all three sister to Koeberliniaceae. First realized to be undescribed... -

A new species of Myrsine (Primulaceae-Myrsinoideae) from New Guinea
Myrsine exquisitorum Utteridge & Lepschi (Primulaceae-Myrsinoideae) is described and illustrated as a new species endemic to the Western Highlands Province from Papua New Guinea. The new species is unique in the relatively large, almost orbicular leaves with entire margins, and the tetramerous flowers arranged in axillary fascicles without forming short...Utteridge, Timothy M.A. ; Lepschi, Brendan J.

New Combinations in Combretaceae subtribe Combretinae from Africa and Asia
Recent molecular evidence has confirmed that Meiostemon and Quisqualis are embedded in Combretum. While some of the species in the two former genera have already been transferred to Combretum, several combinations are still wanting. New combinations for these species in Combretum are therefore formalised here for taxa of Meiostemon and...Maurin, Olivier ; Turner, Ian M. ; Boatwright, James S. ; Christenhusz, Maarten J. M.

Two new combinations in Elatostematoides (Urticaceae) for species from Sarawak and Sumatra.
Based on a recently published phylogeny, Elatostematoides is monophyletic and distinct from Elatostema. As more taxa are included in the molecular phylogeny, new combinations will need to be created to accommodate in Elatostematoides species formerly in Elatostema. In the present paper we provide evidence that Elatostema hirtum belongs to Elatostematoides.... -

Lectotypification of the name Ximenesia encelioides, basionym of Verbesina encelioides (Asteraceae: Heliantheae: Verbesininae).
During the preparation of the treatment for the genus Verbesina Linnaeus (1753: 901) for the Flora iberica (Castroviejo 1986–2015) and work towards a preliminary checklist of the Compositae of Bolivia (Hind 2011), the typification of Verbesina encelioides (Cavanilles 1793: 60) Gray (1876: 350) was reviewed. It is a species with...Juan, Ana ; Hind, D.J. Nicholas ; Alonso, Mª Angeles

Ardisia recurvisepala (Primulaceae-Myrsinoideae), a new species from Peninsular Malaysia
Ardisia recurvisepala Julius & Utteridge sp. nov. (Primulaceae-Myrsinoideae), a member of Ardisia subgenus Crispardisia on account of the vascularized leaf marginal glands, is herein described and illustrated as new species. The new species can be easily recognized by the elliptic-oblong calyx lobes recurving at the apex, and is also characterized...JULIUS, AVELINAH ; UTTERIDGE, TIMOTHY M.A.
