Synonymies in Ananas (Bromeliaceae).
To clarify the last pineapple classification, which only recognizes the tetraploid crownless A. macrodontes and the diploid A. comosus, with three cultivated and two wild botanical varieties, we re-establish A. comosus var. microstachys and revise ancient synonymies, underlining misinterpretations and distinguishing horticultural names from botanical names whenever possible.Coppens d'Eeckenbrugge, Geo ; Govaerts, Rafaël

Myrcia excelsa (Myrtaceae), a new species from Espírito Santo, Brazil.
Myrcia De Candolle (1827: 401) (Myrciinae, Myrteae, Myrtaceae) is represented by 101 species in the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo (Santos et al. 2020). In addition, a new endemic species is here proposed based on a unique combination of morphological features. Morphological terminology follows Radford et al. (1974) and Lucas...Gaem, Paulo Henrique ; Fernandes, Thiago ; Sampaio Valdemarin, Karinne ; Lucas, Eve ; Mazine, Fiorella Fernanda

Genetic diversity in wild populations of the restinga ecotype of the cashew (Anacardium occidentale) in coastal Piauí, Brazil.
The cashew, , is a globally important tropical fruit tree, but little is known about its natural infraspecific systematics. Wild Brazilian populations occur in the cerrado biome and coastal restinga vegetation. We investigated whether wild coastal and domesticated populations could be distinguished genetically using inter-simple repeat molecular markers (ISSRs).
