A new combination in Dolichandra (Bignoniaceae) from Brazil.
The Florae Fluminensis was a colonial and pioneer study about the plants of the captaincy Rio de Janeiro and localities from São Paulo state, elaborated by Friar Vellozo. In the publication of the manuscript, many problems happened and this resulted in loss of priority from names of Vellozo. But in... -

Truongsonia (Arecaceae: Arecoideae: Truongsonieae)—a new palm genus and tribe from Vietnam.
A genus and species of palm from the Truong Son Range in Vietnam, Truongsonia lecongkietii, is described as new to science. Phylogenomic analysis strongly supports the placement of the new taxon in subfamily Arecoideae as sister to the African endemic tribe Podococceae, which comprises a single genus Podococcus. A new... -

Two new combinations in Brazilian Dendropanax (Araliaceae).
New combinations and lectotypes are here proposed for two Brazilian species of Dendropanax (Araliaceae): Dendropanax simplicifolius for Didymopanax simplicifolius from northern Mato Grosso Amazonian forests, and Dendropanax pruinosus for Gilibertia pruinosa, known only from gallery forests in the Chapada dos Veadeiros region. Both of these species are very poorly known...Fiaschi, Pedro ; Frodin, David G.

A catalogue of the vascular plants of the Caatinga Phytogeographical Domain: a synthesis of floristic and phytosociological surveys.
A catalogue is presented of plant names in use in the Caatinga Phytogeographical Domain (CPD), the largest semiarid ecoregion of South America. We compiled all pubished papers we could locate with floristic and/or phytosociological data relating to the CPD and created a database of all site-based surveys, all names reported... -

New combinations in Aeridinae (Orchidaceae).
New combinations are made in the genera Arachnis, Brachypeza, Dimorphorchis, Grosourdya, Phalaenopsis, Renanthera, Robiquetia, Taeniophyllum, Thrixspermum, Trachoma and Trichoglottis. Two new subgenera are established in Phalaenopsis (subgen. Ornithochilus and Hygrochilus). These changes are proposed to begin aligning the genera recognized in subtribe Aeridinae with results of recent DNA analyses (published...Kocyan, Alexander ; Schuiteman, André

A new classification for Lipocarpha and Volkiella as infrageneric taxa of Cyperus s.l. (Cypereae, Cyperoideae, Cyperaceae): insights from species tree reconstruction supplemented with morphological and floral developmental data.
Recent molecular phylogenetic analyses showed that Lipocarpha and Volkiella are nested in a paraphyletic Cyperus s.s. and therefore should be viewed as part of a broadly circumscribed genus Cyperus (Cyperaceae). In this paper, molecular phylogenetic analyses of Lipocarpha and Volkiella based on nuclear ribosomal ETS1f and plastid rpl32-trnL and trnH-psbA...Bauters, Kenneth ; Larridon, Isabel ; Reynders, Marc ; Asselman, Pieter ; Vrijdaghs, Alexander …

Daemonorops komsaryi (Arecaceae)—a new rattan from the Bird’s Head Peninsula, Indonesian New Guinea.
Daemonorops komsaryi (Arecaceae), a new species of rattan from the Bird’s Head Peninsula in West Papua, Indonesia, is described and illustrated. This species closely resembles D. calapparia, but is distinguished by having more than 60 leaflets on each side of the leaf rachis, and in having slender, rigid, long blackish-brown...Maturbongs, Rudi A. ; Dransfield, J. ; Mogea, J. Corrections and an addition to Vermeulen et al. (2014): two new names and a new combination in Bulbophyllum (Orchidaceae; Epidendroideae; Malaxideae).
Regrettably, two names in Vermeulen et al. (2014) were not validly published because the basionym references were omitted or incorrectly given (Melbourne Code, 2012: Art. 41.5). In addition, we overlooked Saccoglossum maculatum, which needs a new name in Bulbophyllum. We thank Irina Belyaeva (K) and Anton Sieder (WU) for bringing...Vermeulen, Jaap ; Schuiteman, André ; Vogel, Eduard F. De
