New combinations in Aeridinae (Orchidaceae).
New combinations are made in the genera Arachnis, Brachypeza, Dimorphorchis, Grosourdya, Phalaenopsis, Renanthera, Robiquetia, Taeniophyllum, Thrixspermum, Trachoma and Trichoglottis. Two new subgenera are established in Phalaenopsis (subgen. Ornithochilus and Hygrochilus). These changes are proposed to begin aligning the genera recognized in subtribe Aeridinae with results of recent DNA analyses (published...Kocyan, Alexander ; Schuiteman, André

Corrections and an addition to Vermeulen et al. (2014): two new names and a new combination in Bulbophyllum (Orchidaceae; Epidendroideae; Malaxideae).
Regrettably, two names in Vermeulen et al. (2014) were not validly published because the basionym references were omitted or incorrectly given (Melbourne Code, 2012: Art. 41.5). In addition, we overlooked Saccoglossum maculatum, which needs a new name in Bulbophyllum. We thank Irina Belyaeva (K) and Anton Sieder (WU) for bringing...Vermeulen, Jaap ; Schuiteman, André ; Vogel, Eduard F. De

Dendrobium annulatum (Orchidaceae: Epidendroideae), a new species of Dendrobium section Grastidium from Indonesian New Guinea
The second largest genus of Orchidaceae, Dendrobium Swartz (1799: 82), has close to 1600 accepted species names (Govaerts et al. 2019). Indonesia is particularly rich in species of Dendrobium, with, for example, 114 and 53 species recorded from Sumatra and Java, respectively (Comber 1990, 2003). However, this pales in comparison...Juswara, Lina S. ; Schuiteman, André ; Champion, Jeffrey

Taxonomic notes on Goodyera (Goodyerinae, Cranichideae, Orchidoideae, Orchidaceae) in China and an addition to orchid flora of Vietnam
Based on fieldwork and examination of fresh as well as preserved specimens, Goodyera bomiensis and G. wolongensis are reduced under the synonymy of G. brachystegia and G. serpens respectively. Goodyera serpens and G. marginata are reinstated as accepted species, and G. afzelii, previously thought to be restricted to Madagascar and...Liu, Yan Wen ; Zhou, Xiao Xu ; Schuiteman, André ; Kumar, Pankaj ; Hermans, Johan …

Molecular phylogenetic study of the tribe Tropidieae (Orchidaceae, Epidendroideae) with taxonomic and evolutionary implications.
The orchid tribe Tropidieae comprises three genera, Tropidia, Corymborkis and Kalimantanorchis. There are three fully mycoheterotrophic species within Tropidieae: Tropidia saprophytica, T. connata and Kalimantanorchis nagamasui. A previous phylogenetic study of K. nagamasui, based only on plastid matK data, placed K. nagamasui outside the clade of Tropidia and Corymborkis without...Sabino Kikuchi, Izai A.
