Myrcia excelsa (Myrtaceae), a new species from Espírito Santo, Brazil.
Myrcia De Candolle (1827: 401) (Myrciinae, Myrteae, Myrtaceae) is represented by 101 species in the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo (Santos et al. 2020). Calyx (con)fusion in a hyper-diverse genus: Parallel evolution of unusual flower patterns in Eugenia (Myrtaceae)
Eugenia has a pantropical distribution and comprises ca. 1000 species found mostly in the Neotropics.
