First record of the introduced ladybird beetle, Coccinella undecimpunctata Linnaeus (1758), on South Georgia (sub-Antarctic).
Biological invasions represent a growing threat to islands and their biodiversity across the world. The isolated sub‐Antarctic island of South Georgia in the South Atlantic Ocean is a highly protected area that relies on effective biosecurity including prevention, surveillance and eradication to limit the risk of biological invasions. Based on... -

The genome sequence of the tree of heaven, Ailanthus altissima (Mill.) Swingle, 1916.
We present a genome assembly from an individual (tree of heaven; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Sapindales; Simaroubaceae). The genome sequence is 939 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 31 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial and plastid genome assemblies are 661.1 kilobases and 161.1 kilobases long, respectively.Schley, Rowan J. ; Leitch, Ilia J. ; Christenhusz, Maarten J. Status, typification, and synonymy of some early names for South Asian and Oceanian plants proposed in Urtica or in other genera now in the Urticaceae.
L.f., the basionym of the currently accepted name (L.f.) Chew, and L.f., were both published in 1782 by Linné filius in and are here lectotypified with specimens from original material collected by Thunberg on Java. After its publication, has only been cited as a synonym of , but that is...Friis, Ib ; Wilmot‐Dear, Christine Melanie ; Moore, Alison

Abstract
Connecting the Dots: Aligning human capacity through networks toward a globally interoperable Digital Extended Specimen (DES) infrastructure.
Thanks to substantial support for biodiversity data mobilization in recent decades, billions of occurrence records are openly available, documenting life on Earth and enabling timely research, awareness raising, and policy-making. Initiatives across local to global scales have been separately funded to serve different, yet often overlapping audiences of data users,...Ellwood, Elizabeth R. ; Addink, Wouter ; Bates, John ; Bentley, Andrew ; Buschbom, Jutta …

Cell wall polysaccharide and glycoprotein content tracks growth‐form diversity and an aridity gradient in the leaf‐succulent genus.
Cell wall traits are believed to be a key component of the succulent syndrome, an adaptive syndrome to drought, yet the variability of such traits remains largely unknown. In this study, we surveyed the leaf polysaccharide and glycoprotein composition in a wide sampling of species that occur naturally along an... -

A further new species of Isoglossa (Acanthaceae) from the Eastern Arc Mountains of Tanzania.
I.Darbysh. & Hemp (Acanthaceae), from submontane moist forest at Mwala in the South Pare Mountains of northeastern Tanzania, is described and illustrated. This species is considered to be related to (S.Moore) Lindau and (Vahl) Brummitt & J.R.I.Wood, which are widespread in the montane forests of eastern Africa, but it clearly...Darbyshire, Iain ; Hemp, Andreas

Wrightia vietnamensis (Apocynaceae), a new species from Vietnam.
A new species of (Apocynaceae) from Vietnam, Hazell & D.J.Middleton, is described and illustrated. Seed was collected on a Vietnamese led international collaborative expedition and grown on in the Temperate House at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. When it matured and flowered, it was found to be an undescribed species....Hazell, Emily C. ; Baines, Richard A. ; Nguyen, Van Dzu ; Francis, Jessica V. ; Middleton, David J.
