Gardneria and Spigelia (Loganiaceae), two genera new to the Flora of Peninsular Malaysia.
The genera Gardneria and Spigelia with the discovery of G. ovata from Fraser’s Hill, Pahang, and the tropical American weed, S. anthelmia from Selangor, respectively, are new records for the Flora of Peninsular Malaysia. A full description and taxonomic notes for G. ovata and S. anthelmia in Peninsular Malaysia are...Julius, Avelinah ; Kamin, Imin ; Kiew, Ruth ; Utteridge, Timothy M. A.

Update on the systematics of Benstonea (Pandanaceae): When a visionary taxonomist foresees phylogenetic relationships.
The paleotropical monocot Pandanaceae family comprises c. 700 species distributed into five genera: Benstonea (c. 60 spp.), Freycinetia (c. 250 spp.), Martellidendron (6 spp.), Pandanus (c. 450 spp.) and Sararanga (2 spp.). Benstonea was circumscribed to include species previously placed in Pandanus section Acrostigma (one of the four sections of...Callmander, Martin W. ; Booth, Thomas J. ; Beentje, Henk ; Buerki, Sven

Phytotaxa 100: The rise of a major journal in systematic and taxonomic botany.
Today, the 23rd of May, is the 305th birthday of Carl Linnaeus—father of plant taxonomy and founder of the modern scheme of binomial nomenclature. To join international celebrations of his birthday, we publish Phytotaxa 100, at the same time marking an important milestone in the history of this journal of...Zhang, Zhi-Qiang ; Esser, Hans-Joachim ; Christenhusz, Maarten J. Plant pollen and spores as sources of ice nucleating particles.
Soluble molecules released from plant pollen can nucleate ice from supercooled water and are an enigmatic source of atmospherically relevant biological ice nucleators. Recently, it has been highlighted that ice nucleating particles from pollen may possess greater potential to impact cloud glaciation than previously considered, as fragments generated by pollen...Kinney, Nina L. The genome sequence of weasel’s snout, Misopates orontium (L.) Raf. (Plantaginaceae).
We present a genome assembly from an individual (weasel’s snout; Tracheophyta; Magnoliopsida; Lamiales; Plantaginaceae). The genome sequence is 361.0 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 8 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The assembled mitochondrial and plastid genomes have lengths of 569.76 kilobases and 152.15 kilobases in length, respectively.Christenhusz, Maarten J. The genome sequence of rosebay willowherb Chamaenerion angustifolium (L.) Scop., 1771 (syn. Epilobium angustifolium L., 1753) (Onagraceae).
We present a genome assembly from an individual (fireweed; Tracheophyta; Magnoliopsida; Myrtales; Onagraceae). The genome sequence is 655.9 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 18 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial and plastid genome assemblies have lengths of 495.18 kilobases and 160.41 kilobases in length, respectively.Christenhusz, Maarten J.
